Abstract

The paper presents a full vehicle simulation system utilized for a drive train design process. A parallel hybrid electric power train exemplifies the procedure. The simulation system consists of scalable simulation models reproducing the behaviour of the used components and considering the stationary losses. In this way the configuration of the hybrid electric power train can be variegated by scaling the components. Moreover, an intelligent energy management system is derived and implemented including the power train control strategy. In a final step parameters are defined in the simulation system that enables the global optimization of the power train design. (6 pages)
