Abstract
The SAW transversely coupled waveguide resonator filter and the simple SAW resonator on the cylinder surface of a piezoelectric material are considered theoretically. The electrode structures cover the whole cylinder surface along the circle and radiate the SAW in the direction perpendicular to the element of cylinder. The frequency characteristics of these cylindrical SAW transversely coupled waveguide resonator filter and cylindrical SAW resonator are discussed and compared with the frequency characteristics of the corresponding plane structures. For analysis of these structures the coupling-of-modes equations allowing for the finite thickness of the electrodes are used. In comparison with the plane structures, in such cylindrical structures the external reflectors providing additional loss are not necessary for the resonance existence. For both cylindrical structures the width of all the resonances is determined by the propagation loss only and the frequency characteristics have no sidelobes
