Abstract

We report the following five results for SAW propagation characteristics on quartz. (1)New first-, second-, and third-order temperature coefficients of the stiffnesses for alphaquartz were obtained for better agreement with experiments. (2)Sets of maps are presented showing the value of SAW velocity, electro-mechanical coupling constant, powerflow angle and temperature coefficient of delay. (3)One of the methods to select the optimum cut for SAW propagation characteristics by these maps is explained. coefficient of delay are shown for several new cuts with smaller temperature coefficient than the ST cut, obtained from the theoretical
