Abstract
This three-week-old girl, the product of in vitro fertilization (IVF), was referred for evaluation of a prominent, raised right V1-V2, retroauricular infantile hemangioma (Fig 1). Her examination was otherwise normal. Magnetic resonance imaging of her brain with contrast and genomic microarray analysis were both unremarkable. Brain magnetic resonance angiography showed only an abnormal right carotid bifurcation with a narrowed right internal carotid artery. Treatment with propranolol resulted in involution and dramatic improvement of the hemangioma (Fig 2). FIGURE 2Patient segmental hemangioma after treatment with propranolol (age six months).
