Abstract

This study aimed to identify the main characteristics of research studies and theses carried out in the areas of talent, creativity and excellence in Saudi society. The content analysis method was used with 409 studies. The findings showed that there was a growth of the studies, of which 82.63% appeared between 2000 -2018. More than 66% of the studies were master and Ph.D. theses, and females took part in 36.68% of the studies. Regarding researchers' disciplines, 29.59% belonged to psychology, 27.39% to curriculum, and 22.99%to special education. 66.75% of published work was conducted by universities, while 15.40% by Journals, and 9.79% by conferences and symposiums. With regard to areas, 47.43% of the studies used giftedness terms, 44.99% used creativity terms, 6.11% used academic excellence terms, while 1.47% used mental excellence terms. 38.63% of the studies dealt with characteristics, while 23.69% focused on programs, 9.53% on measurement and evaluation, and 8.31% on difficulties and problems. Regarding research methods, 59.91% used the descriptive method, 24.45% experimental, while 15.64% were theoretical reviews. Most of the sample members were students. 32.77% of the studies used measures and tests, while 24.45% used questionnaires and checklists, and 24.45% used programs. The study concluded with some recommendations.Keywords: Saudi productivity about talent, creativity, excellence.
