Abstract
Due to the extensively usage of the internal structure during the construction of feedback controller, Hamiltonian function method has gained great success in the performance enhancement control of power systems. In this paper we consider the saturated excitation control of multi-machine multi-load power systems using Hamiltonian function method. First, we propose a general result for the saturated control of nonlinear differential algebraic systems. Then, based on the dissipative Hamiltonian realization of the considered power system, we put forward a decentralized saturated excitation controller. Simulation illustrates the effectiveness of the control strategy.
