Abstract

To identify the factors associated with satisfaction with quality of life according to demographic, family and health characteristics during the people in reintegration process (PRP) in Colombia. A quantitative, analytical study, with a primary source of information; 252 adults were selected by the Agencia para la Reincorporacion y Normalizacion [Agency for Reintegration and Standardization] throughout the national territory. Participants were asked about their perceived quality of life, which was related to demographic, family and health characteristics. A analysis univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis was conducted in order to explore crude and adjusted prevalence ratios, using logistic regression in an explanatory model. Of the participants, 15% were not satisfied with their quality of life. Dissatisfaction was strongly associated with being a woman, being without a partner, living with non-functional families and having functional dependence. Quality of life is an individual perception that can be affected by material or objective conditions, making it necessary to reinforce and implement social policies that promote the reduction of social gaps by developing equality in the living conditions of the ex-combatants who are involved in the reintegration process.
