Abstract
The simplex method of optimization is employed to correct the thermal parameters of a satellite thermal model using transient temperature data. The correction of conduction and radiation exchange factors of the satellite RSD2 is discussed. Theoretically evaluated thermal history is used instead of the measured data. Normalized objective function minimization is found to give good results for the case considered. The major advantages of the scheme are: (I) simplicity and ease in computing; (ii) the method can be used even when a part of the orbit measured temperature data is available; (iii) mesurement of all nodal temperatures are not required.
