Abstract

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is associated with medical complications and quality of life deterioration. There is a lack of evidence to show that nutritional intervention could delay the progression of kidney damage. However, intervention with timely, frequent and individualized nutritional management (FINM) could be the key to the renal function preservation thus preventing complications. The objective is to apply and evaluate a multidisciplinary CKD care model (CKD-M), belonging to the cardiovascular program1 (CVP) at the primary health centre in Chile, that has predominantly low schooling and a poor socio-economic population.
