Abstract

A significant proportion of cases of CKD in many epidemiological reviews are classified as of undetermined etiology. The use of agrochemicals is widespread among farmers in Nigeria. As risk factors are not similar globally, therefore a further search for non-traditional risk factors is desirable to strengthen primary preventive measures in reducing the burden of CKD in developing countries. This project evaluated a rural farming community for the prevalence of designated markers of CKD and the possible role of agrochemicals.
