Abstract

Innate lymphoid cells (ILCs), a recently discovered group of immune cells, are classified into group 1, group 2 and group 3 ILCs based on their phenotypic and functional characteristics of Th1, Th2 and Th17, respectively. ILCs play an important role in the early effector cytokine-mediated response and do not express phenotypic markers of myeloid or dendritic cells. In Wistar Kyoto rats, CD8+ non-T lymphocytes (CD8+Lym) infiltrate into glomeruli with macrophages (Mφ) during the development of anti-glomerular basement membrane glomerulonephritis (anti-GBM GN).
