Abstract

Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory systemic disease characterized by non-caseifying granulomas at the histopathological level. Ocular sarcoidosis has many symptoms and signs. Currently, the diagnosis of sarcoidosis remains a problem, especially in extrapulmonary involvement. Local and/or systemic corticosteroids and immunomodulators are used in the treatment depending on the location of the anatomical involvement in the eye and the severity of inflammation. In the future, specific genes will be utilized in the diagnosis of sarcoidosis and will be able to reveal its infectious etiology in microbiological developments. And these developments will be able to change the treatment approaches of sarcoidosis.
