Abstract

Yellow nail syndrome is characterized by primary lymphoedama, reccurrent pleural effusion and yellow nail discoloration of the nails. It is commonly believed that yellow nail syndrome is due to an anatomical/functional abnormality of the lymphatic vessels. About 100 cases of yellow nail syndrome have been described in the literature but it has never been associated with ulcerative colitis. We report one patient wih yellow nail syndrome in whom ulcerative colitis was observed.
