Abstract
This paper focuses specifically on the connections between Cisneros’s male characters and their phase of existence ranging from the manners of society to the lower position of women characters. The aim of this study is to point out the privileges of male characters that have been bestowed upon an absolute authority over women and to focus on the motivations leading them to be the sole power. In the procession of characters and events Cisneros makes some of her main concerns more explicit than others and though her novels may seem different from each other, they are indeed connected by the common themes of propositions and delineate the power of men to the reader. This study aims to reveal male characters in relation to female figures. In this context, it will look into male figure through the women protagonists of “Caramelo”, “The House on Mango Street” and “The Woman Hollering Creek.
