Abstract
A review is presented of Sandperches from the fauna Nha Trang Bay (South China Sea, Vietnam). Nine species of the genus Parapercis were recorded in the fauna of this bay; one of species has probably not been described; moreover, six species have been reported for central Vietnam in the literature, but have not been found in this material. P. diplospilus and P. ommatura are first reported for the fauna of Vietnam. A disagreement was revealed between the specimen with the holotype label of P. elongata and the characters revealed in the first description of this species, in which was discussed the possibility of loss of the holotype of this species or of its conspecificity with P. alboguttata. Brief descriptions are presented for all species. A key is made for species of Parapercis for Nha Trang Bay.
