Abstract

Gastric cancer, a leading cause of cancer mortality, is a heterogeneous disease that is predicted to claim over ten thousand lives in the United States in 2018, according to an American Cancer Society’s estimate (1). Current treatment of gastric cancer is considered suboptimal as the cancer is commonly addressed in a uniform fashion regardless of the disease subtype.
