Abstract

Sample size calculations for genetic epidemiologic studies of craniofacial diseases require special considerations. The purpose of this study was to determine 1) which factors affect the statistical power of case-control gene-disease association studies involving single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), and 2) the effects of such factors on power calculations.
