Abstract

SUMMARY The paper describes some of the preventive interventions which have been initiated as part of a longitudinal study of about 60 children in their development from the age of 4 to 8. The focus is on the process of establishing and developing a collaboration with network personel in the community and on the interest, expectations and scepticism expressed in this connection. As a result of the interventions a slightly dislocated balance could be observed in some of the former working relationships in the area. New balances were developed and supported. Som of the pitfalls in community work are mentioned as are the possibilities for mutual inspiration and professional growth.
