Abstract

Health generation, known as Salutogenesis, understands health as “the ability of individuals or communities to adapt and manage the physical, mental, or social challenges that arise in life.” For over 10 years, salutogenic-focused projects have been carried out in Colombia. The process began with reflections and theories that shaped the initial models, implemented and evaluated in organizations, communities, and the healthcare sector, ranging from low to high complexity. Experiences demonstrate that it is feasible to generate health and well-being by creating capacities that enable individuals and communities to face biological, psychosocial, and cultural challenges, among others, common in the country and its regions. This article represents an exercise in social appropriation of knowledge aiming to disseminate partial results of the project titled “Comprehensive Care Model for Patients with Multimorbidity at Central Fundadores Clinic —Promedan—, in Medellín-Colombia, with emphasis on management (clinical, salutogenic, and risk) between 2021 and 2024: Design, Implementation, and Evaluation”.
