Abstract

Purpose – The aim of this study is to determine the level of knowledge of the personnel working in healthcare enterprises about the green supply chain, where resources are limited, waste storage and disposal areas are insufficient, personnel training on the use and disposal of hazardous materials is limited, and incentives for the use of renewable energy resources are limited. Design/Method/Approach – The population of the study consists of personnel working in public and private health institutions operating in Ankara. In order to determine the knowledge level of the participants about the green supply chain, an online questionnaire with 46 questions was applied and 296 participants formed the sample of the research. For the data, a single scanning model was used to determine the amount and type of variables, and a relational scanning model was used to determine the existence of the relationship between the variables and the direction of the change. The obtained data were analyzed and interpreted with a statistical analysis program. Findings – Green supply chain management sub-dimensions, participants; It has been determined that there are statistical differences according to gender, marital status, age, working time in the institution, working time in the health sector, and the units they work in; No significant difference was found with the income level, occupation and educational status of the participants. Discussion – According to the results obtained from the study, it is evaluated that the health system decision makers and actors at the macro level, and the health institutions managers and unit managers at the micro level, the necessity of providing training to raise awareness of the personnel working in health institutions about green supply chain management and activities, and in line with the trainings and green practices. It is important to ensure a proactive communication between all the stakeholders of the chain, and thus the personnel working in health institutions to adapt to green practices and adapt to change
