Abstract
ABSTRACT Using data from the 1992 and 2002 editions of Public Library Data Service, published by the Public Library Association, a snapshot of median salaries of directors and beginning librarians is taken for libraries in the various population ranges. A comparison of the increase in salaries over the ten-year period, in terms of both dollar changes and percentage gains, reveals that in the larger libraries the salaries of the directors rose at a sharper rate than that of the beginning librarians.
