Abstract

In 1929, began the planning of an air route that connected Northern Sakhalin with the mainland of the Soviet Union. In 1930, the first flight was made along this route, which marked the beginning of the history of aviation in the Far East. The article provides an overview of documents deposited in the Russian State Archive of Economics and the State Historical Archive of the Sakhalin region, containing information on the development of air traffic. These sources are found in various non-specialized collections of archives, and there is a need for their systematization.
