Abstract
A peak in diagnoses for anxiety disorders occurs during adolescence and earlier onset has been associated with increased symptom severity and comorbidities on a long-term scale. This highlights the necessity of research investigating the mechanisms underlying fear inhibition specifically as it manifests during adolescence, which can be used to inform the translation of novel methods for threat response inhibition to developmental populations.
