Abstract

Historically, peripheral arterial disease and acute limb ischemia have been remedied by method of open surgery. If not addressed, these conditions may lead to amputation, and potentially death. Recent advancements in technology and treatment strategy originally intended for cardiac and neuronal occlusions have been made available for intervention in peripheral and arterial diseases. This study aims to determine the feasibility of an aspiration-based endovascular approach in recanalization of occlusions of the periphery.
