Abstract
This WHO poster entitled “Safe Motherhood Means: Social Equity for Women Maternity Care for All Essential Obstetrics for Those at Risk Family Planning for All Couples” lays out basic conditions for safe motherhood from safe delivery to safe healthy motherhood. It calls for obstetric and maternity care family planning and social equity implicitly drawing attention to disparate conditions that mothers encounter throughout the world. It has been noted that although significant advances have been made over the years wide discrepancies remain in maternity care infant mortality and family planning activities. Overall the poster depicts the contrasts of a fulfilled promise of motherhood and the lurking threats around it.
