Abstract

As the incidence of colorectal cancer (CRC) is low in India, Indian health care focuses on increasing awareness of early symptoms for CRC as more cost-effective than an organized screening program. However, the data show the high incidence of CRC in Indian immigrants to USA due to life style changes. The aim of this study was to assess and increase the awareness of CRC while overcoming the barriers to its screening, with an intervention in a fraction of Asian-Indian population of Duval County, Florida.
