Abstract

Nasogastric intubation and lavage is a routine procedure for evaluation of gastrointestinal bleeding. However, it has a low predictive value for risk stratification. A novel single-use endoscopy (EZ scan®) has been developed with a similar caliber to a nasogastric tube. The aim of this study was to test the feasibility of EZ scan.Patients and methods: Patients who were suspicious of gastrointestinal bleeding were prospectively enrolled. EZ scan was performed and then conventional esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) was performed.
