Abstract

Magnifying narrow band imaging (NBI) emphasizes the surface microvasculature of the gastrointestinal tract. The endocytoscopy (EC) system enables cells and nuclei to be observed at 450-fold magnification during gastrointestinal endoscopy. Kudo et al. reported that EC system was useful for differentiating between neoplastic and nonneoplastic lesions and between “massively submucosal cancers or worse” and other neoplastic lesions1.
