Sa1490 USE OF FULLY COVERED SELF-EXPANDING METAL STENTS IN MANAGEMENT OF BILE LEAKS

Abstract

Management of bile leaks can present a complicated problem for surgeons and endoscopists. Bile leaks are primarily managed endoscopically, however, interventional radiology and surgical approaches may be necessary for complex persistent bile leaks or for the treatment of associated fluid collections. Little data exists to support the use of fully covered self-expanding metal stents (FCSEMS) in management of bile leaks. In this study we aimed to evaluate FCSEMS in the treatment of bile leaks.
