Abstract
Recent research has revealed differences in the gaze control strategies of experienced and novice laparoscopic surgeons. When acquiring endoscopic techniques, the gastroenterologists must overcome environmental constraints on visuomotor control, such as loss of depth perception, poor tactile feedback, and the use of long instruments that amplify movement error and exhibit a fulcrum effect. Little is known about the visual gaze pattern (VGP) that may impact colonoscopy effectiveness. This study examined the optimal gaze strategy for colonoscopy and effect on adenoma detection through a systematic review and comparative analysis.
