Abstract

Rotational vibration manipulation function for enforced angular displacement is applied to suppress residual vibration of swing arm of HDD device during seeking control. The function is derived from a three-body vibro-impact rotational oscillator under Grover algorithm. Since it can sampled-data control angle and angular velocity of the magnetic head in every natural period, robust control can be achieved without changing long or short-distance seeking mode. Because of the properties of rotational vibration manipulation function, the proposed method requires that the natural period of swing arm should be integral multiplication of the sampling time of servo-information.
