Abstract

Film forming properties of some functionalized PAMAs were determined under the pure rolling conditions, a temperature of 40C, a mean Hertzian pressure of 0.24GPa with a glass disk-on-steel roller tester. As a result, the oil film thickness under low speeds depended upon functional group. When comparing the oil film thickness among PAMAs with the same mole concentration of functional group in monomer, DMA copolymers showed superior oil film formability to the others, meanwhile higher mole concentration of functional group showed thicker oil film thickness. For iCIO and DMA copolymers, high-molecular-weight type showed an increase in oil film thickness.
