Abstract

This paper investigates shape-factor dependence of the finger type PSJA. PSJA (Plasma Synthetic Jet Actuator) is an electric device which induces a jet stream by impressing voltage between the anode and cathode. Finger type PSJA electrodes aligned in the lateral direction, and can generate jet stream in both the lateral and longitudinal directions. The lift characteristic is verified for circular arc wings by wind tunnel experiment, and a lift is measured with a force sensor. Finger type PSJA covered a wide range of the increase in a lift, and it turned out that it is superior to S-S type PSJA. Moreover, the lift decreases as the distance between the lateral electrodes increases.
