Abstract

This paper deals with flows induced by a DBD Plasma actuator (PA) in still and uniform flows. The PA on a thin flat plate was operated inputting a rectangular wave of AC voltage of ア5 kV and at frequency of 8 kHz. Temperature and velocity profiles of induced flow by the PA were measured using a cold-wire thermometer and a hot-wire anemometer. As a result, the temperature rising in the still air is 25 K at x = 5 mm and 10 K at x = 15 mm. In this case, maximum air density variation is 8%. The area within 1 mm from the wall is over 5 K. The mass flow rate adding with a PA decreases in faster velocity in uniform flow, but the momentum is constant.
