Abstract

There are a lot of researches about a flapping body in low Reynolds number in order to develop micro flying robot. However, many study using high aspect ratio and rigid wing, therefore, effect of elastic deformation on interference between vortices are not clearly. In this paper, we performed fluid-structure interaction analysis about the flow field around the elastic moving body which is low aspect ratio using ANSYS 14.5/ANSYS-CFX 14.5. Especially, we examined vortex structure, velocity distribution, and dynamic fluid force. Vortices generated and grown at elastic body tip make increased velocity flow of wake, as a result, elastic moving body get high thrust.
