Abstract
Renewable energy sources such as solar and wind are being popularized in recent years. It is not exception that uses energy of water flow. The Micro-hydro is a term which used for a small scale hydroelectric power system. The Micro-hydro has a potential to produce the more reliable power compare with solar or wind power, because there are still large amount of an undeveloped water source in Japan. In this study, we focus on the undershot water wheel as a most familiar type in several water turbines. And we propose newly a water wheel which has a cylindrical inner guide. We obtained difference through the experiments in characteristics of shaft output of water wheel between cases which inner guide contained or not. We measured the shaft output of water wheel in three cases of initial water level under the constant flow rate. As a result, it is found that the maximum value of shaft output of water wheel with inner guide is larger than that of the case without inner guide.
