Abstract

To understand the Mach wave frequency characteristics of a supersonic jet, normalization of pressure fluctuation at the source positions of a supersonic jet are conducted using the unsteady computational data. Normalization of frequency spectra based on the shear-layer thickness and time-averaged center jet-velocity works very well except for the temperature effects, as much as the empirical model of rocket acoustic waves build by NASA. This result will improve the prediction model of acoustic waves from a rocket plume.
