Abstract

Ti-55at%Ni alloy specimens were made by precision casting. After several types of hear treatment and cold working, transformation temperatures and stress-strain relationship were measured for these specimens. The transformation temperatures were estimated by measuring Young's modulus at several temperatures. It was verified that superelasticity and shape memory effect appear even in the Ti-55at%Ni alloy. It was found that transformation temperatures and stress-strain relation vary depending on the hear treatment and cold working.
