Abstract

The article considers the relationship of Prokofiev with his mentors and teachers, which influenced his development as an outstanding composer and performer. The article notes the role of his communication with his mother, a pianist, and his first teacher, R.M. Glier, in his musical development as a child. The article presents material describing the work of the teachers who taught him at the St. Petersburg Conservatory: A. K. Lyadov and N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov in the theory department, A. N. Yesipova in the piano class, N. N. Cherepnin in the conducting class. The main achievements of these musicians in terms of the development of national musical art are outlined. Ways of interaction of the pupil and the teacher on the way of acquiring the school of professional mastery are stated.
