Abstract

We study (1+1)-dimensional QED, which confines single fermions. After introducing Coulomb screening of the interaction, free single fermions can exist asymptotically and we compute the fermion-antifermion scattering. We use the light-cone momentum representation on a lattice and a nonperturbative time-dependent method to compute the $S$ matrix. We present numerical results on the $S$ matrix for fermion-antifermion scattering and investigate the approach towards the continuum limit.
