Abstract
The excited states of F 2 have been investigated as a function of the internuclear distance by a series of configuration interaction calculations. Numerous avoided curve-crossings between valence, Rydberg (3s and 3p), and ionic (F 2F −) electronic states have been found. Transition moments from the ground state to the lowest dipole allowed Rydberg states are presented.
