Abstract
Obesity is an under-researched chronic disease in Brazil. The growth of obesity in Brazil is reflected by the increase in bariatric surgeries in private health. The journey of the patient with obesity begins with consultations, exams and other medical and hospital resources available. Thus, the aim of the study was to analyze costs and resources used up to 3 years before bariatric surgery in the supplementary health system (SHS).
