Abstract

Trinuclear and tetranuclear ruthenium clusters act as active intermediates in the transfer hydrogenation reactions of CX 4 (X = Cl, Br); a representative trinuclear species Ru 3(CO) 7Cl 2(OC 6H 11) 2 has been characterised.
