Abstract
The polymeric Ru(II)complexes [Ru(C 7H 8)Cl 2]x and [Ru(C 6H 6)Cl 2] x were obtained by reaction of RuCl 3·xH 2O with cycloheptatriene and 1,3-cyclohexadiene, resp., in ethanol. A dimeric phosphine derivative of the second compound was also isolated. The chemical and spectroscopic properties of these complexes suggest a two-dentate coordination of the π-bonded cycloheptatriene and benzene ligands.
