Abstract
Survey data show that more than half of the Russian population is pessimistic about the possibility of solving housing problems; the social problems of the region; acquiring a higher education; and getting free, good-quality medical care. These perceptions of the future show the most urgent social problems of Russian society, which demand immediate solutions.
