Abstract
This study is devoted to monitoring the state of ethnic relations within Russian society and to Russian citizens' perceptions of relations between countries. A more narrow aim is to provide a pilot description of autostereotypes and heterostereotypes characteristic of Russian citizens in their perceptions of members of various nationalities inhabiting Russia, as well as a description of stereotypes with regard to how Russian citizens perceive the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Europe as their immediate neighbors in geopolitical space.
