Russian-American relations after the end of the Ukrainian conflict: American experts’ opinion

Abstract

Nowadays the relations between the two great powers – The United States and Russia – are at their lowest point over the past 30 years. After the start of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine in February 2022 the United States and its allies expect to "inflict a strategic defeat on Russia on the battlefield". However, after 20 months of the conflict, it became obvious that Russia could not be defeated, and now it has much better chances of winning than it seemed earlier. Despite the US officials public statements to help Ukraine "as long as it takes", it's obvious that the conflict will be over sooner or later, and Russia's winning, so the USA will have to rebuild relations with it in the new terms. The US experts from some «think tanks» give their options how to do it after the end of the conflict in Ukraine.
