Abstract

Objective To explore the efficacy of Russell-Taylor reconstruction nails versus that of PFNA in the treatment of intertrochanteric fractures.Methods The data on 86 patients receiving Russell-Taylor reconstruction nails or PFNA were retrospectively analyzed.The types of fracture,surgical duration,intraoperative bleeding volume,efficacy of the procedures,and complications were recorded.Results There were no significant differences between the two groups in surgical duration and intraoperative bleeding volume.The rate and quality of fracture healing differed significantly between the two groups.Conclusions Both Russell-Taylor reconstruction nails and PFNA are the effective method for intertrochanteric fractures of,but the former procedure has more advantage.
