Abstract
The study aimed basically to determine the level of rural youth practicing ofcitizenship behavior in the study area, constructing and testing a causal model of therelationship between the level of rural youth practicing of citizenship behavior andsome studied variables, identifying the direct and indirect effects of the studiedvariables on the variation of the level of rural youth practicing of citizenship behaviorand finally identifying the most important obstacles of the rural youth practicing ofcitizenship behavior and the respondents suggestions for facing them. The empiricaldata used in the study were collected from 300 rural youth in the villages ofALgarq,Manshiet Abdal Majeed, AL Garq Qabaly and Daniel in Etsa district,Fayoum governorate.The findings provided an empirical evidence of the validity of the proposedmodel. There were direct and indirect significant effects of the following variables onthe level of rural youth practicing of citizenship behavior: age, the number of years offormal education, the degree of attension of problems and societal issues, leadership level, cultural openness and achievement motivation. Based upon the study findings,a number of theoretical and applied implications were presented and discussed.
