Abstract

At present, the rural road traffic safety in our country is still poor and needs improvement. Many countermeasures to improve the rural traffic safety are difficult to be fulfilled because of the shortage of fund, which leads to more traffic safety problems. Under this situation, it is necessary to offer some low-cost, easy-to-operate countermeasures to solve the traffic safety problems. Comparing the countermeasures to improve the traffic safety, it can be found that they are different in cost and efficiency. Therefore it is necessary to make sort analysis among the improving countermeasures. This study establishes rural road traffic safety improving countermeasures ordering model through research on cost-benefit ratio. The paper first designs an expert questionnaire, selects main rural road problems through field survey and experts' opinions, and lists all possible countermeasures. Then rank of all possible safety countermeasures to choose optimal improving countermeasure. Finally the paper takes a typical rural road section in Jiangsu province as an example to prove that the model is practical and easy to operate, and can be used to find improving countermeasures with acceptable cost.
